A little about me. I am originally from Maryland and have always lived in Frederick and worked in Montgomery County until 2015. I moved to Franklin County in 2015 and love biking hills. I don't think I have a choice. My love for fitness began in the 80's. I have taught a variety of group exercise classes and found a love in encouraging people during class and the social aspect of group classes. When indoor cycling classes became popular I added that to the formats I taught. My love for endurance challenges began in 2002. I began riding outdoors as well as running for distance. I had running and cycling friends and we encouraged each other in these endeavors. I raced my first triathlon in 1998. I had no clue what I was doing but I was on a bike and racing. I ran my first marathon in 2003. My transition into serious multisport racing (triathlons and duathons) happened because my running and cycling friends decided training is better together. I had to get swimming lessons to be a better free style swimmer. I've never become a fast swimmer but I can finish mid-pack in the swim and then pass those fast swimmers on the bike course. My run isn't fast but I can hold my own.
I have two adult sons. One races bikes and the other isn't interested. When they were in their teens, we did complete a couple century rides together.
I love cycling. I love cycling with other people. How about you? What motivates you? Are you a fitness fanatic, fitness enthusiast, athlete with racing goals, or someone who wants to feel better walking up a flight of stairs? We are all at different fitness levels but we can all come together in an Indoor Cycling class. Think about your goals and let me help you reach them.
We are all much stronger than we think. Sometimes all it takes is someone coaching us to push a little more. That push is different for everyone. The new year is soon upon us. Let's meet our challenges together.
Maybe you are a cyclist and don't want to face another winter on your trainer in your basement. Come join us. I can help you build your winter base and be ready for riding in the Spring.
Maybe 2018 is the year to complete your first 5K, 10K, 10 miler, half marathon, triathlon, or hiking the 7 Sisters or Wantastiquet. We can get there together.
Maybe you want a mid-week cross-training workout to enhance your skiing, snowboarding, or snow shoeing fun. We can do this.
Indoor cycling adds to your life endeavors. Leave your stress at the door and face those pedals as a group.
As an added benefit I sometimes bring either a cyclocross race or classic road race to show on the TV screen.
